What types of Liquor Licenses are available in Kent County

Class C Tavern Liquor License –Beer and wine can be sold on premises.

It permits bars and restaurants to sell liquor without a seating or food requirement. A Class C Resort license can be obtained if the location has more than 100 seats and a full restaurant menu. The transfer of the first 550 Class C resort licenses can be done to any location in the state. It is possible to still get a Class C Resort license directly from the State.

Specially Designated Distributor Liquor License (SDD) –  The purchase of beer, wine, and spirits (such as vodka, tequila, and whiskey) by customers in their original packages for consumption outside of the licensed location is allowed.

Specially Designated Merchant License (SDM) – Purchasing wine and beer in their original packages for consumption away from the licensed location is allowed for customers.

Steps to getting a Kent County Liquor License

  1. Select a location: To get a liquor license in Michigan, you will require to have a signed Letter of Intent or a lease or deed that demonstrates you have the right to the premises.
